Privacy Policy
Private by design.
Shepherd SSH connects directly to servers you choose. We do not operate analytics, advertising, tracking, or an SSH proxy.
Information on your device
Saved server profiles, preferences, pinned host keys, and terminal shortcuts are stored on your device. Passwords, private keys, and passphrases are protected by Apple Keychain. Photos are accessed only when you select them for upload.
Direct SSH connections
Authentication material, terminal input, commands, prompts, and selected attachments travel directly between your device and the SSH server you configure. We do not proxy, receive, or store that traffic. Your server and network provider may keep their own logs.
Optional iCloud sync
If you enable sync, Apple iCloud stores server profile data and iCloud Keychain stores credentials under your Apple account. This data is not sent to a Shepherd SSH server. Apple handles it under its own terms and privacy policy.
Purchases
Apple processes App Store purchases, subscriptions, renewals, and refunds. Shepherd SSH reads verified entitlement information to unlock paid features. We do not receive your Apple ID password or payment card details.
Optional Live Monitoring
When you explicitly enable Live Monitoring, the relay receives selected server labels, bounded agent identifiers and status summaries, heartbeats, purchase-verification identifiers, and notification delivery identifiers. It does not receive SSH credentials, server addresses, terminal contents, commands, or prompts.
Notifications and diagnostics
Apple Push Notification service delivers enabled alerts and Live Activity updates. Shepherd SSH has no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Diagnostics shared with Apple are controlled by your Apple device settings.
Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you remove it or delete the app. Removing a server removes its local credential. Keychain and iCloud copies may remain according to Apple platform behavior and your account settings. Disconnecting Live Monitoring invalidates its device and publisher credentials.
Sharing and security
We do not sell personal information or share it with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers. Shepherd SSH uses SSH transport, host-key verification, and platform credential storage, but no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
